Frans Hals is one of the key figures in Dutch art of the 17th century. The ARTE premiere "Frans Hals – Maler des Lachens" (ARTE/ZDF) explores the role that laughter plays in the art of Frans Hals and accompanies the curators of the Berlin Gemäldegalerie and the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum during the preparations for the major Frans Hals exhibition. The film will celebrate its world premiere on July 8 at the Sommerkino am Kulturforum including a talk 30 minutes prior to the beginn of the movie. Airing on ARTE: July 14 at 5 pm.
