Throughout his impressive filmography, Steven Spielberg has depicted extraterrestrial life time and again. His 35th feature film is a spectacular science-fiction thriller in which the truth about the universe must not be revealed under any circumstances. However, an activist (Josh O’Connor) and a meteorologist (Emily Blunt) are in possession of irrefutable evidence. The intelligence agencies are now doing everything in their power to prevent the two from sharing their knowledge with the world.

Greece. A small, impoverished city-state dominated by a massive refinery—its only source of income: oil. The men, all armed, hold absolute power. Their leader, Nikos, is gravely ill and must arrange his succession. Shock spreads when he includes his protégé, Maria, among the contenders. The fate of this young woman—unaware of the most tragic part of her family’s past—will be turned upside down by the arrival of Eleni, a singer at the town’s bar.

Bärbel Bohley was an artist and civil rights activist in the GDR until she was deported to West Germany in 1988. She spent six months traveling, meeting with European politicians and intellectuals, and keeping a diary of her encounters and experiences. She then fought for her return to the GDR and helped bring about the peaceful revolution. The documentary follows the diary but also features interviews with her companions.

Anna, Magnús, and their three children lead a quiet life on the coast of Iceland. Magnús, whom everyone calls Maggi, is often out at sea for days on end as a deep-sea fisherman, while Anna hopes for her big break as an artist. In between, they hike in the mountains with the children, go ice skating, or watch wild horses and whales. Anna and Maggi actually separated some time ago. Yet the two of them can’t seem to separate their lives from one another.

Against the backdrop of 18th century England, a massive pox outbreak, and Jacobite uprising – Sir Chauncey Savage and Lady Savage blindly pursue a better life.
