Boris and Jonathan have been a couple for eight years, but no longer have much to say to each other. Actor Boris buries himself deeper and deeper in rehearsals for a new film with ambitious director Jeanne, mixing real and fictional characters. Jonathan tries to redefine his voice as a writer. Through the days of wrestling with distance, closeness, trust, desire, and fear of loss ghosts Jonathan's young niece Josie, who is trying in idiosyncratic ways to deal with the approaching end of her childhood.
