Concerning Violence
Documentary | 85 min | FSK 12
"Concerning Violence" deals with the African liberation movements of the 1960s to 1980s. Newly discovered archive material is combined with quotes from Frantz Fanon's "The Damned of the Earth". Lauryn Hill, who became famous as the singer of the Fugees, brings the text excerpts to life with her voice. As a cinematographic essay combining Fanon's text, Lauryn Hill's voice, the archive footage as well as music, the film translates the complex theoretical ideas into an emotional film experience.
