The 20-year-old Greek Ion (Aliocha Schneider) kills a man. What he does not know, however, is that it is his own father, whom he has never met, just like his mother. While serving his sentence in prison, he gets closer to his warden Iro (Agathe Bonitzer). The two fall in love and stay together even after his release. Eventually the couple also have a daughter together. What neither he nor his partner know: Iro is Ion's mother.
