Sandra (Léa Seydoux), a translator living in Paris, raises her eight-year-old daughter alone and cares for her father, who is suffering from a neurodegenerative disease. His mind and memory are fading, his health is steadily deteriorating. In all this emotional turmoil, Sandra starts seeing her old boyfriend Clément, and although he is still in a relationship, a passionate romance ignites between the two, but it further complicates Sandra's everyday life.
