Business representative Steve Butler and his partner Sue Thomason are sent to a small town hit hard by the economic crisis to promote the expansion plans of the fossil fuel company they are working for. But the two confident business sharks have not reckoned with the town's opposition, which refuses to hand over the drilling rights. With the support of environmentalist Dustin Noble and the committed Alice, a respected teacher takes up arms against Butler and Thomason.
