Attractive forty-year-old Catherine (Marina Foïs) leads a seemingly uneventful life in Paris. For years, she had taken care of her father. When he dies, she reluctantly travels to her sister's (Anna Mouglalis) home in Brazil to get away from her old life. On the sunny beach, Catherine meets the young Brazilian Gil (Maicon Rodriguez), who enjoys his carefree life of partying and flirting. A passionate affair develops between the unequal couple, the intensity of which almost burns Catherine.
