Karo is newly single and struggles with the non-existent relationship with her father. When her mother Michaela wants to take her on vacation to Rügen, Karo suspects that another failed love affair is behind it. What begins as an annual trip to the Baltic Sea soon turns out to be a journey into the past of two women who are very different from each other.
