Anna, Magnús, and their three children lead a quiet life on the coast of Iceland. Magnús, whom everyone calls Maggi, is often out at sea for days on end as a deep-sea fisherman, while Anna hopes for her big break as an artist. In between, they hike in the mountains with the children, go ice skating, or watch wild horses and whales. Anna and Maggi actually separated some time ago. Yet the two of them can’t seem to separate their lives from one another.
