In 1982, in northern Chile, in a dusty mining settlement that resembles a post-apocalyptic outpost. This is where eleven-year-old Lidia grows up, surrounded by a queer family of choice – and confronted with a mysterious plague that supposedly emanates from the gaze of this community. The eponymous Flamingo, an eccentric member of the family, is also at the center of the miners' hostility.
