Gdańsk, 1927. The remarkably precocious and sharp-witted Oskar has just turned three. And yet he already knows one thing for certain: he cannot and will not accept the petty-bourgeois lives of the adults. He simply stops growing. From then on, the anarchic little boy passionately protests against fanatical Nazis and their cowardly followers by beating his tin drum.
