Literatur LIVE: Iris Berben & Oliver Masucci
Book premiere "Nach so viel Schmerz und Pein. Erste Briefe nach dem Holocaust"
Iris Berben and Oliver Masucci read from *“After So Much Pain and Suffering: First Letters After the Holocaust”*. Musical accompaniment: Nur Ben Shalom. Host: Tanit Koch.
Immediately after liberation, Holocaust survivors wrote letters that rank among the most poignant testimonies. Written in a time between catastrophe and an uncertain future, they reflect not only loss and destruction, but also the struggle to find direction and a possible new beginning. The letters tell of the search for loved ones, of the attempt to reconnect with the familiar world, and of the need to give expression to one’s own continued existence. Supplemented by careful historical contextualization, a multifaceted picture of individual experiences emerges, revealing the diversity of these voices beyond grand narratives.
