About

The film ADAMAH (1947) links the experience and trauma of the Shoah with the hope of a new beginning. AVODAH (1935), by contrast, envisions a social utopia in which labor becomes the engine of a shared future. How do these historical images resonate today, amid new traumas, social polarization, and the culture wars over memory?
