For many people, fleeing across the Mediterranean to Europe is often their last hope of escaping war, persecution, and hunger. Since women and children are also forced to embark on the world’s most dangerous escape route, a midwife is an important part of the crew of a sea rescue ship. The documentary follows midwife Anne-Katrin’s first mission, showcases a strong team of women on board, gives the fleeing women a voice, and highlights their courage and strength.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Charlotte Peters (producer), Sophia Fenn (cinematographer), and the protagonist Anne-Katrin Klotzsch (midwife).
