German history in one place.
Stuttgarter Platz in West Berlin is where the entire German history of the 20th century: Babylon Berlin, black market and place of refuge for those lost of the war, red light district, nucleus of the student movement, in the 80s also underground.
Michael Angele traces the stories and colorful characters of the Stutti and tells of Babalu and the filming of DIE HALBSTARKEN with Karin Baal and Horst Buchholz. The “Elefant” was long run by concentration camp survivor Leo Fischmann and Rainer Langhans moves into a large apartment in an old building. Germany's major political and cultural currents come together in this square: "Ein deutscher Platz" is a palatable history of the old Federal Republic.
