In the coming-of-age thriller THREE KILOMETRES TO THE END OF THE WORLD by director Emanuel Pârvu, a teenager must overcome resistance from his family, the church and the authorities. The film was screened in the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the Queer Palm. As part of Queer Film Night, we are showing the film as a preview before its theatrical release.

About

17-year-old Adi is spending his last summer in his hometown in Romania. He plans to move to Bucharest to study in the fall. But when he becomes the victim of a brutal homophobic attack one night, everything changes. His parents, who didn't know that Adi was gay, take his cell phone and want to exorcise his “sin” with the help of the village priest. Meanwhile, the violent crime is hushed up by the local police. Adi has to make a tough decision to save himself.
