About

Saúl Luciano Lliuya, a farmer from Huaraz in Peru, is suing the German energy giant RWE for its emissions of climate-damaging CO2. A glacier collapse into a glacial lake above the town of Huaraz could trigger a destructive tidal wave. The “Saúl v RWE” case could set a precedent for the fossil fuel industry. If Saúl wins, the ruling could pave the way for those affected worldwide to hold companies accountable for their contribution to the climate crisis.
