In JOHATSU, the directing duo Andreas Hartmann & Arata Mori take a look behind the curtains of the obscure practice of disappearance with the help of night moving companies in Japan.

In Japan, around 100,000 people disappear every year, some of them with the help of night moving companies. Some flee from an unhappy relationship, others cannot withstand the enormous social pressure, others try to free themselves from criminal entanglements. With JOHATSU (蒸発 - “evaporate”), Arata Mori and Andreas Hartmann embark on an emotional quest.
