In ROMERÍA, Berlinale winner Carla Simon poignantly and poetically explores her own family history. We are screening the film as part of Cine en Español. Following the screening, which will be attended by actor Mitch Martìn (Nuno/Fon) and co-producer Olimpia Pont Cháfer, there will be a virtual Q&A with director Carla Simon.

About

Eighteen-year-old Marina sees the world through her little digital camera. She takes it with her on a trip to Vigo, the Galician port city where her parents once lived. She only needs a document for a scholarship, but the trip turns into a search for clues about her origins. Encounters with relatives remain cool; no one wants to talk about the past. Gradually, Marina realizes that there is no one truth, only different forms of memory.
