Lena, a cheerful student, firmly believes in happiness and the good in people. As part of a social project, she is sent by the authorities to Hugo Drowak, who has long since lost his happiness and lives alone in a dilapidated high-rise building, to work as his writing coach. Reluctantly, Drowak begins to write about the love of his life, thereby awakening the demons of his past. When Lena understands the connection, she resolutely confronts them.
