In our third issue, we go back to the year 2002. Director Gus van Sant sends two friends named Gerry into the desert—and there they walk, get lost, and lose each other somewhere along the way. The second film in the “Trilogy of Death” is probably the director’s most experimental film, but it is certainly a visually atmospheric gem of slow-paced storytelling.
