Julian Radlmaier, who revived political German cinema with SELBSTKRITIK EINES BÜRGERLICHEN HUNDES (Self-Criticism of a Bourgeois Dog) and BLUTSAUGER (Bloodsucker), returns with SEHNSUCHT IN SANGERHAUSEN (Longing in Sangerhausen). His new film is his most accessible to date—and at the same time strikes at the heart of our current social reality. Set in the small town of Sangerhausen in Saxony-Anhalt, this film humorously and intelligently tells of precarious living conditions, political polarization, solidarity, and—as the title suggests—the longing for a better life.
