The documentary film SIRI HUSTVEDT – DANCE AROUND THE SELF, which celebrated its world premiere in the Panorama section of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, portrays Siri Hustvedt's unique way of living and thinking and connects her writing with the big themes of life: love and farewell – especially in connection with her deep personal and artistic bond with her husband, the writer Paul Auster.

We are showing this touching portrait of one of the most important voices in contemporary literature as a preview before its regular theatrical release in the newly renovated Kino International, followed by a discussion with director Sabine Lidl, moderated by Adriana Altaras.

About

Young, curious and full of drive, Siri Hustvedt leaves her home state of Minnesota and throws herself into the bustling life of New York. In search of the protagonist for her first novel, she embarks on a journey that not only establishes her as a writer, but also as one of the most important voices in contemporary American literature.
