Today, the changing tastes of its many inhabitants and the changing demands on ceremonial and private private use from the Baroque period to the early 20th century. Largely restored and furnished after severe destruction during World War II, the former summer residence is one of the most important sights of the German capital. In addition to an i
ntroduction to the Hohenzollern dynasty
, the palace offers rooms and halls furnished true to the original, impressive suites of rooms and top-class art collections with outstanding masterpieces. The Porcelain Cabinet, the Palace Chapel and the Bedroom of Frederick I are among the highlights of the magnificent Baroque parade apartments in the tower-crowned Old Palace, built around 1700. This central building of the large palace complex was commissioned by the witty and artistic Queen Sophie Charlotte and her husband Frederick I.
